Update on Laboratory Safety What You Need to Know
to Maintain Compliance
Terry Jo Giles, MT(ASCP), MA Ed.
In 2012, the Clinical and Laboratory Standards
Institute (CLSI) published a revised edition of its
standard on Laboratory Safety. OSHA has revised its
Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200)
that requires all laboratory employees that handle
chemicals be trained on the new Globally harmonizing
System of chemical labeling and Safety Data Sheet
format. This program will bring you up-to-date on
all of the changes that impact Laboratory Safety.

highly specific antigen binding site for the epitope
it can recognize. Naοve B-cells and memory B-cells
will be discussed to show how they react to
pathogens the first time they are encountered versus
