**Also in the Ambulatory Campus is the Health Awareness Center for CentraState. Our host Donna Smith wants us to    take a quick 15 minute tour during the day, because according to her, it is amazing.

Learning Objectives

  • A review of Disease that is more common than Diabetes: Chronic Kidney Disease

  • A review of CAP Proficiency Testing requirements will be discussed.  The new CLSI C54 guideline for "Verification of Comparability of Patient Results within One Healthcare System; Approved Guideline" will also be introduced that facilitates ensuring comparability of results among all POCT devices within a department or organization.

  1. Understand the reasons that early detection of renal function can prevent progression of kidney disease.

  2.  Understand the importance of creatinine with eGFR in the clinical assessment of renal function at the POC.

  3. Understand the benefits and drawbacks to various technologies to assist in the selection of point-of-care devices and connectivity solutions.

  4. Understand methods for benchmarking specific point-of-care needs relative to the use of point-of-care connectivity and device technologies.
