10:15am	The latest interpretations of CLIA regulations Rita Scheu of the State of Oregon Public Health Laboratory Compliance and Quality Assurance Section The State of Oregon has audited the last few lab inspections in my health system (both the main lab CAP and POC JCAHO inspections) so she is clearly in-tune with the inspection processes  - regardless of which agency inspects your laboratory and hospital. She recently attended a government conference for laboratory regulators, so she has an updated inside view on how the government is looking the regulation of laboratories.

12:00pm	BNP (b-type Natriuretic Peptide) the latest marker for cardiac disease. Cindy Pye RN, Education Executive for Abbott, will speak on this topic which has been well received elsewhere and BNP is moving in the POCT arena in many facilities.
1:15pm	Round table discussion Various POCT challenges and how we to address them. To give us a little structure during this round table, we'll have some JCAHO standards and CAP checklist questions to display on a screen so we can focus on how we address them at our home institutions. If you have a particular CAP question or JCAHO standard that you want the group to address, please send it to me via email and I'll get it on the list.
