A Spring Snowstorm might have kept the attendance down but didn't dampen the spirits of the more than 30 people that attended the recent Ohio POC Network Meeting

Issues, Concerns

  • JCAHO survey at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton went well

  • Tracer method will be used in future surveys

  • Surveyors talked to users a lot about QC, their test menus, who trains them and how often   

  • CAP inspection at the Health Alliance in Cincinnati

  • Recommendations were made concerning connectivity, manual test

  • Result recording, and undated reagents

  • Future meetings?

    • Possibly November 17th to coincide with CAP WebCast

    • LifeScan ½ day presentation on the Portland Protocol

Thoughts on Hemoprompt cards sent out by vendor

  • Health Alliance felt they would not be using them due to the large volume of product that would have to be changed out and did not feel there was enough literature reviews available on the product
