Annual Spring Meeting and Vendor Fair May 20,2011

 

Floyd Memorial Hospital and

Health Services in New Albany, IN was be the place for POCCs

to be on May 20!

Hosted and put together by Lynn Marie Weber, POCC at FMHHS, nearly 40 attendees

got the opportunity to listen to three great speakers and see products, new and old, from the many POC vendors that participated in a vendor fair. In addition, tours of FMHHS's CVCU wing and the lab tracking system were offered.

 

Writing and Implementing an Effective Quality Management Program kicked off the meeting, with Stephanie Walker, MT, DLM (ASCP) CM, MHA, Point-of-Care Testing Coordinator, Supervisory Medical Technologist, Central Processing/ Reference Testing, VA Hospital, Louisville leading the discussion.

 

Take a Swing at Throughput: The Clinical and Economic Impact of POCT was the topic presented by William Maloney, MD FACEP, Chairman of the Department, of Emergency Medicine, Condell Medical Center, Libertyville, IL.

 

Surviving Sepsis, presented by John J. Ancy, MA, RRT, Senior Clinical Consultant, Instrumentation Laboratory, concluded the meeting.
