POC Group Webinars

The Perfect Complement to On Site POC Group Meetings

Why Webinars? Currently POC groups meet on-site once or twice a year - but given budget restraints and economic conditions:

  • Attendance is dwindling

  • Costs are rising

  • Hospitals are less permissive

  • It’s difficult to get volunteers

  • There’s too much distance to travel

In April, 2009, the Virginia POCCs decided to do something about that and held the first online meeting via webinar! Attendance was stronger than ever, the event was flawless, and the response to their CAP focused event was overwhelmingly positive. Since August, 2009, a number of other POC groups have held webinars using, speakers and topics from our list with great attendance and success!

What are the Benefits of Webinars? Too many to mention but here’s just some of the reasons webinars are the ‘perfect complement’, not a replacement to current POC group meetings:

  • Webinars are sponsored through the generous support of POC vendors - so they cost you nothing!

  • Webinars average two hours per session - no need to tie up a full day plus travel

  • Webinars can be scheduled at any time enabling groups to ‘meet’ more often

  • Webinars allow groups to maintain local structure

  • Webinars enable speakers to present from anywhere

How Do You Get Started? Sessions are being scheduled, and facilitated through Whitehat Communications. For more information, email Rick Import at Whitehat Communications.
