Educational Session:

There were 27 in attendance at the June 21st meeting which focused on Acute Coronary Syndrome and Rapid Cardiac Marker Testing. Anthony Bercaw from Abbott Point of Care spoke about “The Forgotten MI” and the delay that can occur in treatment for non-ST elevated AMI. Dr. Stephen Manzella from York Hospital spoke on “An Interdisciplinary Approach to Improving Central Lab Turn Around Time for Cardiac Markers”.

Evaluation of March meeting (Nuts and Bolts of Connectivity):

There was a high or very high rating for the vast majority of the 41 surveys that were handed in. The barcode presentation scored lower than the IT presentation. Most attendees felt the meeting was very informative and was exactly what they needed to improve their POCT programs.
